Administrative Assistant Initial Outfitting, Transition & Activation (IOT&A)
Primary Responsibilities
SME Solutions is looking for an Administrative Assistant in the Kansas City Metro Plex to join our team. This position is primarily remote with requirements to work in person with the Project Manager as deemed necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The following are the primary job responsibilities of this position.
- Type, revise, and combine materials such as correspondence, reports, records, forms, meeting minutes, and data.
- Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format
- Provide support for staff as needed
- Complete word processing, including letters, memos, reports, and labels
- Provide meeting setup and other miscellaneous tasks/projects as needed
- Prepare and maintain project records and reports which includes entering information into a database and or SharePoint.
- Utilize spreadsheets to record, organize, and retrieve data
- Create and maintain files of project documents using electronic means
- Prepare and assist in project documents such as monthly reports as required during the administration of project contracts
- Assist with the preparation of final project records upon completion of projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and telephone skills
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Skilled in the use of office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Bluebeam, and SharePoint
- Skills to perform basic mathematical calculations
- A positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant on a remote team
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment screening
- Demonstrated experience in project administration, with specific preference given to those with experience with Federal contracts.
- The ability to independently resolve problems
- The ability to work in a remote environment
- Strong people skills, and the ability to interact in a positive manner with the project team
 Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred associate’s degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in office administrative and clerical work
